Nyaight of the Living Cat anime revealed the Episode 1 opening scene, along with announcing the first game adaptation for the franchise. Studio OLM ( streaming the anime, while you can check out the opening seen below
Game Adaptation Nyaight Runners Announced
In addition to the anime, a mobile game adaptation titled Nyaight Runners (tentative) has been officially announced for iOS and Android platforms, with a release planned for Summer 2025. The game will have two main parts (modes):
- Runner Mode: Players gather resources while evading cats, with online two-player co-op play also ed. with cats or obstacles leads to game over, as the player character is transformed into a cat, just like in the anime.
- Cat Café Mode: Players can use collected resources to purchase cat-related items and create a customized cat café, populated by various cats.
Nyaight Runners will operate on a free-to-play model with optional in-app purchases. Pre-registration is scheduled to open in the near future, with the usual promotional campaigns offering in-game rewards.
Additionally, a collaboration with the survival horror game Dead by Daylight was also announced. Details about this crossover event will be announced at a later date.

Night of the Living Cat (Nyaito obu za Ribingu Kyatto), also known as Nyaight of the Living Cat, is a Japanese manga series written by Hawkman and illustrated by Mecha-Roots. It has been serialized in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Garden magazine since October 2020, with six volumes released as of February 21, 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English. They describe the story:
The horror/comedy is set in a world where a certain virus spread all over the world and turned almost everyone into cats. The main character, Kunagi, has a vast knowledge about cats but doesn’t anything about his own past. With the virus spreading through simple cuddles, he has to find the willpower to resist and try to survive as a human.
